Top Cryptocurrencies 2018 — A Statistical Summary

What are the best cryptocurrencies to invest in 2018? Many crypto enthusiasts ask this question. Instead of starting my own analysis of endless (currently 1460) crypto currencies I tried a different approach:

1. Ask crypto experts about their favorites
2. Count how often each currency was mentioned
3. Rank currencies by number of mentions
4. Analyze the top x currencies more closely yourself

Instead of face to face talks with experts, I simply watched YouTobe videos and created an Excel table with all mentioned currencies. After about 30 videos I had created a list of over 50 currencies. These are the most frequently mentioned projects:
